I’m sure this has been said, but I had a more hopeful reading of the season finale. I very much liked the point of view of Don becoming wise to Megan’s antics as he watched her film reel, and I took his walking away from her on set to be him metaphorically distancing himself from her. I just think that Megan does it for him anymore, she’s still so much of a child in his eyes. A child that has, what he may consider, unrealistic goals and ambitions. He even told Peggy in the theater, that his role is to facilitate people into their successes. His work with Megan is finished, and it is time for him to get out of this marriage. People were making the assumption that Don is going to revert to his philandering ways, but I think that is short changing the character. Who says that Don has to cheat? I think he’s found himself in a foreign position where he will have the ability to divorce Megan, similar to the way Roger left Jane this season. Even the song that was being played, “You Only Live Twice”, I think implies a rebirth of sorts within all the characters. Once again, Don will have a chance at the life he wants on his terms. The cause for drama is of course that he does not know what he wants. His inner and outer journey will definitely make next season a must see.
oh this is good
