A Mad Men intro as effervescent as champers?
Well, it doesn’t suit Don Draper’s drowning in Old Fashioneds, Betty’s kept suburban housewife boredom, and the cultural malaise that’s really the root of the entire show, but what better way to highlight that than by contradicting it? It’s like “Born in the U.S.A.”!
Pasadena illustrator Paul Rogers redesigned the opening credits and set them to a slinky, shagtastic ’60s song for allll the hep cats, saying:
I’ve been thinking about adding some motion pieces to my portfolio and here’s the first one, a re-design of the opening credits for Mad Men. I enjoy the show, but the titles have bugged me from the start. It seems to me that they missed an opportunity for a good update of classic film and television titles from the early 1960s.

I like this! I’m not 100% sure...it really offers a creative flair
It’s like something Don would think up to appeal to a wide range of Americans, but doesn’t describe the show itself.
The old one is much better, have a sense...series. These are so superficial.
This is fabulous...it doesn’t fit...show at all. Mad Men is...
credits, they’re perfect...show, but this is fabulous.
